Online-Workshop: (How to) Manage Research Data systematically

Systematic Research data management (RDM) enhances the transparency, reproducibility and reusability of scientific work, and is often a requirement for research funding. But where to start? In this workshop, the RDM-Team of the University of Potsdam introduces the key areas of the broad field of research data management. The following aspects will be covered:

  • The basics of research data management
  • FAIR Data Principles
  • Research data policies (incl. policy at the University of Potsdam)
  • The DFG's Code of Conduct “Safeguarding Good Research Practice”
  • Data management plans 
  • Storage and backup
  • Publishing and (long-term) archiving of research data
  • Data organisation and meta data
  • Re-use of data

  • Thursday, 9.11.2023, 9AM–2PM
  • The format of this course – online or face-to-face – has not yet been determined. It will be announced one month in advance of the course. 

 

Instructors

The workshop will be led by the RDM-Team (members of the University library and the ZIM – Center for Information Technology and Media Management) at the University of Potsdam.
